We all have experiences in life that are varying degrees of good, bad and indifferent. Today I had an experience that stands alone.
For the past several years I've been exchanging PMs with a I-Hubber named NearlyInvisible. NI lurks on the Board and saw that my wife had passed.
On Monday he sent me a PM with his condolences. He closed with this.
"If you would like a semi-anonymous pal to sit a while on the porch and talk or not talk, let me know. "
I told him that I'd welcome a visit from him. No mention was made of how long a visit.
NI got here at 9:30 this morning. We visited a while and went to lunch at Rush Spring's prime eating place. Smoki'n Joe's Bar B Que.
Right now NI is West bound toward Amarillo, Albuquerque, Gallup and West of Phoenix.
He had to get back to West of Phoenix for a family function on Saturday morning.
This man, that I had never met, drove 1800 miles to give me a few hours of companionship---when I really needed it.
Is Americaa great place or what?
