What kind of "certification" (or license as you call it) do you think is legally required for a vendor that sells or rents a portable electronic device to airlines or passenger that has nothing to do with airplane safety? What is the name of the agency that certifies such a vendor? What are the criteria for certification?

People are free to use laptops, DVD players, MP3 players, Gamboys, etc. that are not certified? Why would APS need certification?

I'm not saying they need it - I'm saying there is no evidence that they have any such certification despite their ambiguous claim.

It would certainly put this argument to rest if either APS or e.Digital simply documented which official agency has certified APS to sell to airlines.
