The "junk" BRK invests in are the best firms on the planet and BRK invests using a fair amount of free leverage that's pretty much call-proof. Furthermore many savvy investors believe BRK might start paying cash dividends when Buffett departs, or perhaps even before. BRK has many qualities that will survive long after Buffett.

I'd also add that shorting in general is dangerous with any blue chip stock... especially one like BRK. Plus, TA is worthless.
