I’m back from the AGM. Baba & I chatted with David Lazovsky, POET Executive Chairman, before the Meeting. He seemed very optimistic about POET’s developments. We spoke about everything from the Optical Engine, the Interposer and what it represents, Silterra, Accelink, Almae, and ISRO. All good except he couldn’t comment on ISRO. I sat with Baba for the meeting. Don’t tell him I said this but he’s a good guy. Regular meeting, then SV gave his Progress Presentation. The Presentation is on the POET website. I also just saw it pop up on Seeking Alpha.

I thought we hit the milestones SV set. Our Optical Receive Optical Engine engineering samples are ready and will be delivered this Quarter (very soon). It passed the stress test with no problems. They are tested for 1800 Hrs. I think that testing takes up a large part of our milestone time-frames. The lasers in the transmit part of our Optical Engine takes 2000 Hrs. of testing. I think significant is our interposer. SV said the response from industry was humbling. He is not one to exaggerate. The interposer allows for self-aligning of the light channels. Manually alignment is consuming and expensive. Also, our interposer will allow for more channels to be added with relative ease (400G).

My takeaway was we are on target with development. Our ROSA is a saleable product. The transmit side is starting. I think our partnership with Accelink will be significant. It is large companies like them that will be our customers for products like the POET Optical Engines.

The learning curve we had incorporating the new Interposer, building the Receive Optical Engine will speed-up the development of the Transmit side of the Optical Engine. They are moving swiftly on the Transmit side of the Optical Engine. POET has, IMO, the best technology for industry adoption. Key is our Interposer with Dielectric Waveguides. It represents a huge advancement in providing the industry with low cost, high-density data communication.

I am optimistic about our prospects with POET. I think we have an advantage with our Interposer and Dielectric waveguides. Also, It seems to me the ISRO could still be in play, so I will have to add a smile on that.

couldn't resist snatching this one as it points out a couple more of the gems of the Interposer Dielectric Platform!

Role of polymers will accelerate quickly (slide 53)
