What would really be nice (and I have seen it done several times on the old Yahoo boards) is if the CEO or the IR guy would actually post some sort of response directly on this message board.

That would be a legal/shareholder friendly/obvious/free sort of action that Ferris could take if he wished to. And it would actually improve his own credibility since he is the one who has made statements that these message boards are influential. I think he is nuts in that position BUT if he is true to his own position then he should have a presence here.
