My view is if GTE had something commercially viable at this point in time, and the US Military liked it 'right now' then a licencing deal could be brokered with one of the big boy defense contractors to take it forward - and GTEM would still Cash in
Unfortunately, I don't think GTEM have demonstrated they have a commercial product (not unless they can get S2 upto 65000 for any length of time)....otherwise we would have heard by now
I still maintain the Stratellite is the jewel in the crown, even though it is burning the cash right now. Unfortunately the only demand I see for GTEM's Strat is in a market which they create themselves in the telecoms space - i.e Hotzone Wifi/Dect Access meshed with the Strat. Lockheed as behind as they are will see to it that they corner the Military/Government markets
If Strat development is canned or a deal isn't done with a commercial entity to buy what we have done, develop it further and 'lease us exclusive access' for example then I think the whole concept of GTEM as a global WiFi/WiMax player is dead in the water.
Centreline, as good as it sounds with $80m revs is a simple operation aggregating minutes over IP - poor margins and as such disposable. That leaves Magic Money as a 'Value Added Service' which in all honesty could most probably be offered over a Digital Cell Phone Network. Nonetheless as a product on it's own appears to still look quite lucrative.
