The prices are lower because the taxes are lower, and it’s a huge savings for the end user, but not cultivators. Their prices are based on supply, and there’s a ton of it right now, and I don’t see how the size of the market matters when you can sell 100% of your product. VBF only has 5,000 sq feet of recreational cultivation license vs the 10,000 for medical, and they can’t distribute for REI anymore because of the county rule. Maybe they’ll change their mind with the new lower tax rate, or maybe the state will adopt this proposed regulation: “Highlighted among the proposed changes is that applicants may now complete one license application and obtain one license to conduct medicinal and adult-use cannabis activity. Additionally, licensees may continue to engage in commercial cannabis activities with other licensees regardless of designation as this provision is no longer limited by time.”
