Apple does not have to be identified as the customer.

True, that. However, there is more to a NDA than simply withholding the name of the customer. I had a discussion about NDOs with the former CEO. Those agreements prevent LQMT from revealing the name of the company and any statements regarding the nature of the projects under design. IIRC, over the past 8 years, there have been only 2 companies that gave LQMT permission to make any statements containing the customer’s name and/or remarks while the part was in the development (prototype) stage: Lockheed-Martin and ConMed.

I know first hand that there was a big name company that LQMT worked with several years ago. That name came out unintentionally, as a slip of the tongue, at an annual stock holders meeting. Those few shareholders who attended that meeting were asked to keep the name confidential... which I have, and will continue to do.

Unfortunately, LQMT never got beyond the prototype phase with that big name company, and the project faded into history. But this is the point: if there was one major company kept secret by virtue of NDAs, you can bet there are others. Will any of them proceed to a production contract? I don’t know. But it will take only one to get the ball rolling.
