Yes but a better example would be Bobby Brown's debut album which had hits such as dont be cruel, my perogative, tenderoni and every little step i take. G referred to this very album when he was describing Rocs debut in a pr about 35 days ago(dont know exact date). He is right. Roc legitimately has 5 to 7 singles off of this album. This album is a monster. Persistance is the key here. They have to keep steady promo on this one and they could get monstrous results over a 5 to 7 month period. Here is what they have to look at. The challenges-Roc is a brand new artist. He has no track record. It is the fourth quarter in the music industry so advertising and shelf space are getting expensive and tight now. The Pros-Roc's album in my opinion is much better than alot of the holdiday offerings that have been released. Alot of the stuff is crap that has no chance of doing real numbers unless it is force fed down your throats(Diddy's album is a good example. It sucks). Roc's album appeals to a broad range of fans from the dudes on the streets to the females, to people who appreciate a skilled MC and those that just wanna shake their ass on the floor. He is not straight gangsta either. Roc is a great live and video personality. Roc has a bunch of singles to promote via video and radio, and G is very calculating in his spending of resources and on his method of advertising and promotion. I have seen some of the upcoming ad campaign and it is brilliant. He is directly involved in marketing RMDG products and he does a great job. I predict Roc will break the top 50 on Billboard right after xmas time. The reason for this is because the radio stations will be done with their payolla schedule then and shelf space in all retailers will be wide open. Roc is def a commodity for us now. The more i play his album the more I like it. We are gonna get serious results from the big boy. He's doing it.
