No the electricity used to charge the cars does not all come from clean power sources. Besides heavily metal manufacturing is very damaging to the environment and requires extensive and energy heavy clean up methods. Don’t think I don’t love this tech. Great car and the company has a lot of cool things in the works but let’s not all pretend that these are gonna automatically cancel out emissions. If the electricity to charge the cars came directly from hydro electric, wind, nuclear, solar, and geothermal sources then yea maybe. But all those sources combined only account for maybe 35-40% of mass produced energy. Tesla still burns gas just not directly.
