Well they are correct there exists no market for selling, however there is nothing stopping you from claiming a tax loss due to the revocation of this ticker. You just need to consult your tax adviser and they are only going to allow $3000 per year to be claimed unless of course you have an offsetting profit (capital gain) to deduct from.
