When miners lead gold, that's when you get the power moves though...

Yes, but I think that's when we look at GDX/gold medium-term (a couple of months max). Very short-term (1, 2, 3 days) miners tend to lose those gains they got from going against gold. Like today, gold barely moved since the market opened and miners went from green to red.

PS- what I DO really hate though...is when NUGT is 5x or more GDX to the downside, but not the upside (see today). Grrr...
