There are several methods used for cannabis. Ethanol is mainly used for hemp extraction. CO2 is the latest and cleanest technology. BHO or butane has been used for decades but is a volatile gas and is illegal in some states. It’s the most efficient, but can be dangerous. Most vape pens in the US contain oil from either CO2 or butane.
