That is wishful thinking my friend. Modems cost between $100-$200. getting a buck and a half each is about all a jury will award- a settlement would be less. We are dealing with, in total, maybe 600MM
modems and not all may infringe. That number doesnt come from thin air- Arris (the market leader) has declared 200MM modems, and they have 1/3rd of the market. Math from there brings us to 600MM. They wont collect from every modem, if they get 2/3rds they will be doing good.
That is $500MM, maybe the same or a little less for future licensing=
$900MM. Gotta pay the lawyers- $90 to $100M is 10%. That still leaves $800MM, no matter which way you look at it. IMO, of course. Love to get more. More money is more better.
