I can’t think of any reason , if they are so confident about treatment to keep going on for another 6-12 months
As I have said before , this is a diseas with median survival counter in months , if you can’t show efficacy in 10.5 yrs , you sure won’t be able to in 11 yrs either . And even if you can , thorn it’s not a groundbreaking treatment or a cure everybody is touting about
