TH6565,

OK Terry, Here is my question:

I don't know anything about transceiver. Do you know functions of transceiver in data centers or other applications it could be utilized somewhere else?

Not in detail but why must we know?

A Ph.D biologist who owned a testing lab loved to throw around such questions, especially if the words were quite large, the larger the better to impress others with his vast knowledge.

I asked the Very Important Person about the geoid, which is very, very important but few people have the foggiest notion of what it might be even if they find a misleading dictionary definition.

Without it our knowledge of the universe has severe limitations and submariners under ice caps could have a devil of a time knowing where they are. It is a surface map of the earth by gravity readings.

And isn't it enough to know that - unless you are offered a job to help define the geoid as I once was?

Einstein once said he could never figure out how a radio worked. Other smarter people know you just turn it on with one dial or button and spin or push another to find awful musical noise or worse commentary?

In direct answer to your question a transceiver is used for receiving or transmitting signals, as you probably know. I guess it was an astounding accomplishment in radio once if Einstein thought it beyond his limitations to understand but do we really need to know now unless we are building radios?

Just some thoughts, TH. Hope they are permitted.

Best, Terry
