All kinds of ways.
I personally use a couple safes, a refrigerator(top freezer part) and two upright freezers all in different locations but that's just me because if there is a fire I don't want it to burn.

I don't accept checks, cards or chickens(anymore)

But none of that has anything to do with the audit.
I just hand over the ledger to the accountant. He don't care if I was paid in cash or not.

Cash on hand is cash on hand, for most it is in the bank.

Cash on hand for me is either in my pocket or the freezer
