As I've shared here and elsewhere, I'm waiting for a severe market swoon. And I've been noisily amassing dry powder to be utilized when the hammer of doom shows its ugly face.

Something many won't think about, I suspect, is that some of the richest folks get rich by keeping a conservative card in the holding zone. They get rich by playing that card---but only when it's apparent that the time to strike is looming aver larger as it comes into view.

North Korea, Iran, Turkey, an imploding Italian economic collapse, a US/Russian conflict, and even an attempted indictment aiming to impeach President Trump---any of these, be it an independent event or a combination thereof? It won't take much to launch the negative tidal wave. We're been coasting a long time. I am positive this ride will be coming to a halt as the waters around us collect in new and more meaningful ways.

What I've been doing for the past couple of months is to collect all the cash I can...selling off smaller positions that no longer appear to be the winners I crave. At this time, however, I plan on continuing to hold my DK position which is slightly under 500 shares. I believe we're going to hit $55 or thereabouts and see no good reason to leave a thousand dollars on the table when I've earned it---provided I hold onto my vision.

NGL remains my prized portfolio centerpiece. Yet DK has been enormously profitable for me. Yes, I was unhappy with the obvious mistreatment resulting from DK's refusal to honor distribution obligations due ALDW unitholders. But in the end I've been amply enriched. Were it not for that, I'd not have so much dry powder now. And the role of passive income derived from my portfolio remains fully intact. So all is well in this remarkable Land of Investment.
