Make sure enter Limit Order with Maximum Price if can't monitor and leave for work or something.
Also,
In Schwab: -- Can put min qty to fill. -- In "Enter Order" -- Hit "Optional" (just below Symbol). -- Check "Minimum Quantity" -- Enter number of shares (good on first fill only). -- Then may get partial fill, but avoids being screwed. -- Nothing greater than 99,900 on Min Qty. -- Max Ask = 999,999
On most all others sites: -- AON, "All or none". -- May get passed over on small fills however. -- Best to limit lot size unless millions moving.
As well as: -- FOK, "Fill or kill" -- On next trade alone, (for anyone), it will fill or kill (cancel). -- Used in special circumstances.
This will avoid being "Commissioned" on small qty fills and/or being ripped-off.
Sometimes the MM will release a few thousand shares, then try to bait you to change BID price to get you to chase up since only gave you limited shares on your order.
Hope Schwab or brokerage firm fixed error and ate the difference and gave you price @ second filled order amount.
A good place to start BID is day before trading range.
