It is because Micron is still being thought of a strickly memory play. To that point very little of their revenue is derived from NAND storage. Where as WD has SSD and spinning disk, which is a storage play and expected to continue to thrive and increase due to storage demand needs.

It’s been my point for a while that people are valuing Micron like it is still PC sales reliant as it was back in the 90’s. It’s old School thinking. As Micron continues to develope a NAND/Storage play, they have the wealth of DRAM sales and will use that to build into a behemoth of all kinds of “Storage” Be it SSD, flash, memory, and who knows what else.

The street just doesn’t see it yet
