From my understanding, a ticker change is more or less shutting one ticker down, starting a new one, and shares are converted over 1:1. There will be no trading it the day of the change. This means that every share needs to be accounted for and anyone "not very tall" needs to cover. :D

Companies also like to drop the best news after a ticker change to make it easier for search engines to find. The last ticker change I went through jumped 6x shortly after the change. UTOPYA is so much bigger, better and more popular than that one. Epic run starting!
