A couple of tidbits tonight that suggest a net benefit towards the growth of the oil & gas industry in west Texas, indirectly improving our odds of success.

First up, some updates on the South Orient Rail Line, from this article.

South Orient Rail Line Repair Status

Next, an important point about Senator John Cornyn and Representative Will Hurd, both who were instrumental in getting some of the funding for the South Orient Rail Line repairs.

And from the web site article that follows, I extracted this excerpt...

"Republican John Cornyn is senior U.S. senator from Texas. Besides serving on the Senate Finance, Intelligence and Judiciary committees, he serves as the majority whip, the second-highest ranking position in the Senate Republican Conference. A San Antonio native, Cornyn has served the people of Texas for the last three decades as a district judge, a member of the Texas Supreme Court and Texas attorney general."

Here's the web site link:

My point being is that Senator Cornyn is a very influential senator, which of course means more influence in government and business circles. So hang onto that thought for a moment while we take a look at Representative Hurd, a rising figure himself, as you can see from this recent award, for starters.

Will Hurd is the Future of the GOP...if...

So, with all that information, my point is that we have some very important pro-business allies in the state of Texas that have a significant influence amongst their peers, and influence drives money.

So while there's no direct connection between their status as powerful politicians, isn't it nice to know that our CEO was on the train with Congressman Will Hurd. For me, it just means that it improves our odds that the good ole boy network can have a little bit of extra sway in getting a refinery built, especially if they thought that the refinery would bring significant economic activity to the district. Otherwise, it's not like that the congressman would have been on the that train with the MMEX CEO and the head of the South Orient Rail Line.

It's simply a net benefit that improves the odds of success, imo.
