One article I read is that Musk is trying to make his car manufacturing all robotic. Every step.
And is having trouble with the end phase which is usually done by "humans". So there are quality problems. He's always trying to push the envelope. He also wanted a BILLION dollar bonus.

He's proved everyone wrong so far, no reason he won't do it again, but there is competition coming on fast. Tesla is one iron in the fire, there will be many more.
