He didn’t need to file the extension until the day after fins were due, which is Mar 31. Extension would typically be filed on Apr 1. Of course the holiday is consideration, but he did File early. Clearly if he felt he’d make Mar 31, he wouldn’t have filed.

In any case, I am not surprised, not expectant of anything earlier than Apr 15 (a far cry from mid Feb that a few here were saying they had insider info about). The reason is simple. The first audited year is always the toughest and a lot of unexpected delays usually happen. Apr 15, being a Sunday, means Midnight April 16 is true drop dead date, so don’t expect until then.
