this isn't meant to be a political msg, but we receive a lot of goods from China which we then sell to US consumers. Our businesses profit from lower priced goods and consumers pay less. I'm not saying nothing should be done but I think this is lost in the discussion. I had a textile product manufactured in china and I tried to source it in the US. The best price I could find in the US was MORE than retail price. It was nuts. Again, don't want to get political, just wanted to throw this perspective out there.
