I will suspend reality and take you at your word that you honestly think that Marco is dishonest. I have run several businesses over the years - some very well, some very poorly. What I know from my experience is that plans fail, obstacles appear out of nowhere, and dates change.

In my early years, I hired a contractor to add onto my building. At the time, I didn't know to check that he got the proper permits. He didn't. What started out being a small job, ended up costing about 8x my budget. The county waited until the job was almost completely done, then they had me tear down almost everything. Once we got the proper permits, they taught me a hard lesson. Everything I did for the next 6 months, they made me change.

Marco is spreading himself thin. I see it. I would like to sit down with him sometime and help him become more successful much quicker, but I fully understand the direction he is taking. Complete vertical integration is so difficult because you must reinvent yourself in several different types of business. Just because you know how to make Dr. Pepper, doesn't mean you are an expert on can manufacturing or rack jobbing. The missed dates are likely from inexperience in a certain area of his expansion plans. As he missed a self imposed deadline, he becomes experienced in what he should have done. I personally am impressed with his scope of experience over even the last year.

I have looked at the financials and I see a CEO who is making every effort to improve his business. Not always how I would proceed, but I can see how his efforts will come together and this company could become very large almost overnight.
