Just got a fill for 200 SNMP @$11.70. New cost basis is $11.34.

While I'm ordinarily very protective of a low cost basis, in a discussion with a very close friend there'd been a misunderstanding regarding what a cost basis actually means to me. It is definitely not an ego thing as we engineer our buys and sells and factor in distributions and the like. These are "givens."

There's just one aspect to be associated with CB for me--- and it's the reflection of smart gains or stupid losses in the particular stock. In the case of NGL, I've got a significant gain although it's under pressure lately. SNMP is showing a slight gain which I expect to disappear as a result of both add-on purchases and the usual market gyrations typical of distribution cyclicality.

If I were a multimillionaire, cost basis wouldn't mean a thing, I'd imagine. But with that not being the case, seeing a CB beneath the going price point reassures me I'm doing alright.
