Just about that. Now that we're walking down memory lane, I remember municipal stadium when the Indians averaged less than 8,000 attendance in a stadium that held 80,000. A ticket, any ticket, got you close to the dugout. One night I handed a ball across the fence at one end and a few minutes later it came out the other end with a dozen signatures on it.

Later, when I was 19 and could buy beer, bleacher seats were $2. I'd go with a bunch of friends on summer afternoons and we'd practically have our own section and our own vendor.

I wasn't a basketball fan, but I remember World B. Free. He'd score a ton of points on a team that was terrible. Ted Stepien spent so much money on multiyear contracts for lousy players and traded away draft picks like they were nothing so when he decided to bail, he couldn't sell the team. The NBA had to give the Cavaliers extra draft picks to make the team marketable.

I was a student at Cleveland State when they made the Sweet 16. Out of nowhere, and who knows why? Later they got hit with sanctions for recruiting violations over Manute Bol, who didn't even end up going there.

I can forgive a pink that lies to me, but I can't forgive a pink whose lies I believed.
