VW is planning on 16 assembly factories producing electric vehicles by 2022 with an anticipated 3 million car capacity per annum. They just announced supply contracts for batteries worth $25 billion for Asia and Europe, they also said a North American supply contract will be announced shortly. Looks like TSLA will be neck deep in competitors better able to mass produce electric vehicles.
