I got the letter also. Meaning of "affirmed"...

I didn't know either, but goggled it.
Affirmed – In the practice of the court of appeals, it means that the court of appeals has concluded that the lower court decision is correct and will stand as rendered by the lower court.

So I think that means they rejected his appeal. But the letter goes on...
"we will continue to provide you with updated scheduling and event information as the case proceeds"

Seems like it would be done.
