Not necessary. Good luck with this overdose technology investment. Prodrug enzyme activated opioid does sound impressive.

So to put it another way so you can maybe understand my point the oral bioavailability (the API that gets into the bloodstream and is active) of these drugs is generally poor, since they are poorly absorbed and easily degraded by proteolytic enzymes in the gastrointestinal tract.

So while the patient I cared for has that spike in pain, even though he/she pops another prodrug pill or uses the old pill cutter to give a half more of that dose the amount of opioid available due to enzymes and gastric juices is diminished. The efficiency of that formulation BLOWS.
