Not about the details of the trucking deal, but there are new compliance issues with new fed regulations only as of Dec. Questions on buying a trucking company would be regular customers, freight agent network, what type of freight, ( van, flatbed, specialized, etc..) over the road long distance or local/regional, age of equipment and current drivers. I drive my own truck and am familiar with start up issues. Older trucking companies may have contracts with customers that can be "bought" per se, but customers want to constantly renegotiate for cheaper rates. Seems to me a trucking company would be hard to "flip" and resell. If you dont know trucking, the expertise and relationships you'd have to learn to build a defunct company back up to then sell it and move on to have to learn a completely new skill set with other types of businesses and completely new relationships doesnt seem worth it unless you are just buying debt and selling off the equipment. You can make a lot of money in trucking but you have to stay with it.
