Something similar to this happened 2 or 3 years ago with DRI. Starboard Partners told DRI stockholders with sound reasons that the existing Board was not maximizing the value of the company. Starboard ran it's own slate of Board candidates and swept the election.
This NXP new deal is likely the turning point.
We will know soon enough.
