my3sons87 Maybe the mandate to settle had to do with Nok and others desire to limit IPR rates to 5%. Nok anounced to the world that they were going after that goal. By IDCC settling with ERICY and then anouncing the NOK trigger, it put IDCC at the front of wireless news as a player that got ERICY to verify that IDCC is a major player. (that is a long sentence and I hope it makes sense) they might have forced NOK into a corner they did not expect or want to be in.
