Why does Anavex need to in-license another compound? They already have an laughingly large pipeline that would rival many top-tier pharma companies. But unlike top-tier pharma companies, this company is a one-man band run by a guy who spent 7 years prior to AVXL with a small investment bank (Brimberg & Co) that was expelled from the securities industry by FINRA in May 2013. TGD has a finance background, no prior experience as a CEO and no experience running multiple clinical trials in multiple indications. There is no breadth of capabilities in this senior management team because this is a team of one. If AVXL in-licenses another compound, I would interpret that as a signal that the current crop of drug candidates is a bust.
