I'VE FOUND THE MINE LOCATION!!!

I think believe that I was able to pin this down. Wolfe County is located South East of Lexington. The map currently shows all of the mines (coal) in the county. Pink squares are unknown status mines and grey squares are inactive mines. The map in Google Earth shows lots of forest area and farmland with the exception of one inactive mine that is furthest east which I marked with a blue circle. At least the ground has already been opened up and ready to be mined up. The others mines on the map are not. Seem like a pretty decent size.

This looks like their best bet, unless they plan on starting from scratch somewhere else in the county. But after looking at the map there isn't anywhere else they can go because most of the area to the west in the county in loaded with oil and gas wells which I also included as separate map image.

Hope this helps!
