th6565,

Regardless of P2IC or PIC it seems to me there are some hurdles to breakthrough before success of photonic computers. Density of photonic integrated circuits need much higher.

I am a little curious, TH. I am among the worst people on this board to ask such questions of since I am so dated I once delivered Western Union telegrams and have been retired for almost 30 years.

Do you perhaps doubt published papers on ways to intensify data density by blinding crosstalk in fiber?

I can't help you with that but maybe this will be helpful:

From a recent [in normal man days] 10-Q dated 6/30/17, page 16:

We intend to utilize our proprietary optical polymer technology to create an initial portfolio of commercially feasible electro-optic polymer product devices and applications for various markets, including telecommunications, data communications and data centers.

We expect our initial product device line will be a high-speed 4 x 25 Gbps ridge waveguide modulator to compete in the growing 100 Gbps modulator market. This will be followed by a 4 x 50Gbps ridge waveguide modulator that will compete in the 400Gbps market.

"They" now say in numerous communications and presentations that they have moved at warp speed [in my aged slow-thinking time] beyond those goals and are preparing demonstration models for interested parties.

For sure, talk alone for those of us who have not been witnesses and could easily be fooled were we but I expect Lebby, for one outstanding figure, is not likely to want to sully his standing with a con job.

Could unforeseen problems arise?

- Of course. Way of things. Probably should expect it.

But I think a grand new future is coming into view, something I was once expecting before some here were likely born.

By the end of the year, if maniacal leaders don't decide to fling H-bombs at each other, I am hoping for a very different world to be spied.

Could be wrong. Usually am.

Best, Terry
