Noticed another blatant inaccuracy in AF's article from your cite.

DCVax is a bespoke vaccine made from immune system sentinels called dendritic cells that are harvested from the blood of patients. These immune cells are exposed to a sample of each patient’s brain tumor in a lab. When re-injected into the patient, the trained dendritic cells, now known as DCVax, are supposed to find and kill cancer cells.

The challenge with this approach is that cancer cells have developed myriad ways to hide from or fight off dendritic cells.... -- AF

Instead, because the Dendritic cells that are pulsed in the lab by the patient's own tumor are DCVax-L, the dendritic cells are primarily supposed to be directed to the lymph nodes upon injection back into the body to express to the t-cells because these DCs are predominantly more mature. The t-cells are then charged to attack the tumor cells expressing the matching antigen targets. We are all guilty of not explaining things correctly at times, but the paragraph above demonstrates complete ignorance by someone who has been chastising DCVax-L for many years. Anyway, it is possible a very small percentage of injected DCs bypass the lymphs and end up at the tumor site, but this would primarily result in a little more antigen uptake and travel back to the lymph to charge the t-cells. He's just not good at explaining the very basic nature of DCVax-L (or perhaps he does not want to.)

(Also, dendritic cells are not harvested from the blood, precursor cells are.)
