Before I had a recent medical procedure I did an extensive search to see if there was any evidence that EPA increased incidence or risk of bleeding and found nothing - but did find that high dose DHA can do it. Another potential culprit is too much Vit E (BTDT, caused nosebleeds) or not enough iron, plus more exotic things like proteins/enzymes that affect clotting factors - you'd need extensive testing to find if those were the problem. I know some will probably slam me for this, but if I were in your shoes, given your out of pocket expense for V, I'd switch to OmegaVia 500.

Wait a second - you say you pay $280 for one MONTH of V? What kind of insurance requires an 80% copay?!? Retail cost is ~ $240/mo for Medicare Part D plans in my state - the feds must have worked out a reduced cost and/or rebates with Medicare from AMRN, but your insurance and PBM is paying full boat of ~ $338/mo (avg. retail cost according to GoodRx.com). None of this really makes sense - if you're on Medicare appears to me you're paying way to much even if your plan doesn't cover V at all - but if you're on a commercial plan you can use the V coupon and only pay $9.
