I rather have lynn or cobb myself. I was just speaking out loud if the brewers would come back at the cubs by signing one of theirs, really just speculating. They need a pitcher though in the worst way to compete they need to get 1 of these 3 guys or they will have no shot against the cubs in my opinion. My preference would be lynn than cobb than arrieta, don't get me wrong arrieta is still good but as you said his numbers have been dropping, and he is older. Plus I figure him to get paid more for a job the other two might be able to do at the very least the same effectiveness.

As for a-gon that signing did tick me off, because I think he is done, and I rather see wilmer flores or dom smith or they could of went out and signed dare I say a lucas duda or logan morrison to play 1b. But at least we got frazier this past week that kind of made me feel alot better, along with bruce. truth be told this is one of the weakest division in baseball, outside of the nats the braves and phillies are not very good and I'm being nice, but I will say being nice is deserved because those two teams look like world beaters compared to the marlins, they might lose 120 games.

With the mets truth be told it will depend on the health of the pitching staff. if the pitching staff comes back healthy and makes their starts I think the mets will be one of the two wildcards, because they play about 57 games against the three teams not named the nationals, and I could see them being 15-20 games over there before they play any other games. yes it is a bad division I get it, but I can't see why they can't take advantage of it. if harvey is ever gonna bounce back he will do it this year in a fa year. familia and ramos are both on fa contracts along with blevins my guess is they all have good years, harvey is the main question mark here on that front.

As for matz can he stay healthy he says he is finally ready to go, we will see soon enough. I expect degromm and syndergaard to be elite, but we will see what else falls in behind them. if they can keep their top 2 healthy and pitching well like I expect and get 2 of Harvey, matz, wheeler, montero, lugo and gsellman to pitch effectively, they should be pretty solid of course they could aid that of course if the mets spent some money and signed a lance lynn type then it would only be 1 of these guys they would need to be really good, and you could piece together a 5th starter for the most part. I'm not saying I'm anywhere near optimistic as I was last season coming in, but the weak division is part of why I have significant hope the other thing is bringing back frazier and bruce and adding swarzak for the pen help. If they added tony watson to that pen I would feel much better about it though I do admit 1 more guy would make me feel better particularly a guy who is lh. Anyways we will see soon enough can't wait for baseball season, because basketball season ended for me completely when porzingis went down. I have to give myself credit the teams I root for are great for injuries right, I mean the mets last season were a joke with injuries, then I went to the watson fiasco in football, now to the porzingis fiasco. can't wait for what other shoes are gonna drop. LOL.

---All above is just my humble opinion.
And I could always be wrong.
And as always do your own DD.---
