Semi OT, but it amazes me that PET scan is now a simple and inexpensive technology.

You create an isotope that emits positrons (anti-electrons), then you chemically bind that into a sugar. Inject it into a patient and surround him with a bunch of detectors that see the particles.

And that is (per the good Doc), a cheap and simple process.

Amazing.
