yes...stock splits typically are to attract more retail investors. And it does not change the valuation.
Talking about Amazon splitting at 1400 per share makes a lot more sense than SCNA at a nickel.
Now i know the conversation isnt about splitting..but its about outstanding shares. My original question..which i still have not been able to figure out an answer for is why a company would divide their pie into 10 BILLION pieces. as opposed to say, 1 billion. why make par value .005? why not make par value 0.5 or 1.0 ? Youre not scaring off people with a 1.00 price. If anything, its the opposite. Real money isnt going to pay this thing any mind.
And i feel like i kind of started this entire conversation..i certainly have not meant to cause any discord...but at the same time...i am a seasoned trader/investor...and this is a legitimate concern of mine.
Despite these concerns, I still have started a position. I dont really plan to add anything at the moment...but I am also not looking for a reason to sell either.
Price per share and O/S and all that aside... assuming their financials are legit...they MAKE something that they sell...their revenues are exploding..they are profitable..they have cash on hand and have no debt. (again...assuming financials are legit...i am always leery of OTC stocks, naturally)
