I don't think Java is needed at all -- At one time, I remember deleting all the Oracle and Java files I could find from my machines.

I forget whether I used the Control Panel's "Programs and Features" to uninstall them or if I just deleted every Oracle and Java folder I could find (they may have been located in C/Program Files or C/Program Files(x86)

Currently if I use the the Start menu Search box nothing shows up so I'm assuming I don't have JAVA on my machine.
