The recent statement by Scott Pruitt has been gnawing at me for some time. Something isn't sitting well with the wording, something just seems off...

It is my judgment at this time that any mining projects in the region likely pose a risk to the abundant natural resources that exist there.

Is it odd that Pebble is not mentioned by name? There are at least a dozen or more active mining "projects" in Bristol bay, none of these risky endeavors are mentioned specifically...hmm.

This one really gets me :

Until we know the full extent of that risk, those natural resources and world-class fisheries deserve the utmost protection

Isn't what the permit process is all about, determining risk? With the past administration NAK got the smack down from the EPA and was told they couldn't play, now the EPA is telling NAK if they dont play nice they wont get to dig.

There seems to be something afoot, something that wasn't said by the current admin, a read between the lines thing. If the agenda was Anti this or anti that, then why back peddle in a half-ass manner, just kill it?

Or buy cheap stocks ;)
