Incognito mode also disables many add ons like java, shockwave and cookie settings to name a few.
All of these could have something to do with a browser running slower.

So this points more to that browsers other settings or extensions being corrupt.

One thing to also try is disabling each addon or extension one at a time and restarting the browser to see any effects. If there's a noticeable diff then the last one disabled could be the culprit.
