Could it be because the chances of a portable Cannabis analyzer becoming a medical device in the states is probably not a reality at this present moment in time, due to the fact that Cannabis in the US is not considered an acceptable form of prescribed medication as it is here in Canada?

There is a strategy here. It is obvious to me - Start with Canada with the designation process where Cannabis is accepted (by Health Canada as a medicine), and then follow suit with US after designation is approved in Canada, and hopefully US will be further along in the legalization/federal regulation of the drug by the time this happens.
