A CEO should not be replying to shareholders. That is what an Investor relations person does. All anyone involved with a publicly traded company should be able to reply is that all information will be made available publicly in a form of a press release. Any other reply is criminal.

Also Twitter is not an acceptable form of media for press releases. however an official press release can be re tweeted.
