Well these people are unhappy!

According to one Instagram user who came to the event, which cost between $100,000 and $250,000 per couple, caviar was being served with plastic spoons, “traumatizing” those in attendance. The luxury dish is also accompanied by garnishes basic enough to belong in a fast food restaurant.
hile such “trauma” may seem like an exaggeration, at a minimum cost of $100,000 to get through the doors, plastic utensils is a glaring slap in the face to everyone in attendance.
“I hate to do this, but this is a total #disgrace, #shame on #maralago , you can’t serve caviar with plastic spoons! Please offer your caviar with mother of pearl spoons and dishes! Wait until you see the accompaniments…#horriblepresentation,” the Instagram user wrote.
It seems that the high ticket price did not necessarily translate to quality at the event, at which guests could see that expenses were indeed spared in the lackluster display.

Adding insult to injury, Trump himself couldn’t attend the festivities, given the fact that his obstinacy regarding a deal including provisions for the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), both of which are exceedingly popular among Americans, led to a government shutdown for the first time since 2013.

While him attending a lavish gala amid a government shutdown wouldn’t have been surprising, it would have certainly created dismal optics, even for an administration with an affinity for making itself look bad.
At the risk of repeating Trump’s own words, it sounds like Mar-a-Lago has become quite the shithole.
