How much the price can actually run on good news depends largely on whether or not the shorts 'get it' that their assumed massive further dilution isn't going to take place. That will make all the difference in the world because it's the diff between them getting into a squeeze in rush to cover vs them continue to throw more shares into the ask. Of course in either case good news will get a nice bump up. Short hedge funds are usually quite good at knowing when they can throw shares at a stock and slow down or stop a move vs when they have to just hold back and then when the volume dries up because all the longs have put in all their money and demand falls back drastically, the shorts come in and just whack it.

To get out of the pattern of weakness vs the shorts we need 2 things, news that is powerful enough that new buyers continue to come into the stock and keep a constant volume of demand, and/or for the shorts to realize that they just want to cover and get out of the way of the flow of demand vs their thinking that they can crush the stock if they just have enough firepower to keep whacking it hard after all of the long side money available has been committed.
