I did go to Permian High(Odessa) and stayed at a Holiday Inn last night if that counts.

Around five years ago I was wined and dined for several days in the Midland-Odessa area by a couple of companies I served in IR capacities. Quite an experience---seeing all the ridiculous windmills trying to take over the oil biz when it was so obvious to us insiders that some of these formerly agricultural lands had been contaminated and could serve no better purpose. And get the gov. to pay bleeding bucks, too. Crazy.

Land rape was/is just awful, no words to describe the devastation wrought by reckless oil and related liquid solids irresponsibly stored pending pipeline connections and huge trucks. Few weeds can survive such contamination.
